Dr Melanie LeeDirector of Trust Psychology and Principal Clinician
Melanie is an experienced Clinical Psychologist and Cognitive Analytic Therapy Practitioner (MA (Hons), DClinPsy, CPsychol, AFBPsS), being a Chartered Member and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Practitioner Psychologist. Melanie worked for 13 years in the NHS and is now full-time within Trust Psychology. Melanie’s particular interests and expertise are working with adults in psychological distress alongside consulting, teaching, training and supervising others in psychological approaches. Melanie has published her doctoral work and co-authored two book chapters within the area of therapist learning and development.Trained in a range of different therapeutic modalities, Melanie has a passion for working relationally and has completed her training in Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) in addition to previous training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Dr Alan bowmanAssociate Clinical Psychologist
Alan is a Clinical Psychologist with experience of working with adults across the lifespan with a wide variety of physical and psychological difficulties. He has specialist experience of working in chronic pain management and palliative care services in the NHS.
He has particular therapeutic interests in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion Focussed Therapy, and Existential Psychotherapy.
Alongside his clinical roles, Alan works as a research tutor for a local Clinical Psychology Doctorate programme. He has published research into the mechanisms of visual hallucinations in Parkinson’s disease, and oversees a range of ongoing research projects in the fields of motor neurone disease, mindfulness, and ADHD. He provides regular high-quality teaching and training sessions to a range of audiences.
Alan is committed to working collaboratively with individuals in order to ensure timely, engaging, and effective support, in the service of helping them live a rich and meaningful life.

Dr Lesley Pilkington
Associate Counselling Psychologist
Lesley is a Counselling Psychologist with clinical experience in the NHS, third sector and IAPT services. She has a particular interest in working with mood disorders, those experiencing trauma related symptoms, relationally based difficulties and those who are adjusting to living with chronic conditions. Lesley is able to work with adolescents and adults in all these areas.
Lesley's clinical practice is underpinned by an integrative relational approach, incorporating Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing therapy (EMDR).
Lesley's academic career has been as a Senior Lecturer at Doctorate level where she has taught extensively about psychodynamic therapy and on issues relating to clinical practice, an area in which she has published research. Lesley has supervised a number of doctoral research projects on a wide range of issues e.g. childhood sexual abuse, binge eating disorders, ADHD. She is currently engaged in research associated with adjustment to long term conditions such as chronic pain and epilepsy and is involved in research about adolescent mental health.

Dr Michael Lavender
Associate Clinical Psychologist
This includes provision of specialist psychological assessment and therapy to adults and children including: psychological trauma; pain management; adjustment to chronic illness; health anxiety; sleep problems; depression; worry; grief; panic; guilt; low self-esteem; anger; frustration; occupational stress; coping; and relationship difficulties.
He is also an accredited Clinical Psychology Supervisor and is qualified to practice in Eye Movement, Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) as well as Mentalization Based Treatment (MBT). In addition, he is experienced in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Clinical Hypnosis for pain management.

Dr Suzanne Kearney
Associate Clinical Psychologist
Suzanne is passionate about providing excellent quality mental health services and therefore draws on a range of evidence based psychological approaches in order to meet the needs of each individual client. She has particular therapeutic interests in Compassion Focused Therapy and Cognitive Analytic Therapy.

Catherine BockettTrust Psychology Administrator
Catherine has a broad range of experience in a variety of work settings, but what she enjoys most is interacting with people. She is here to answer your calls and preliminary queries, and to assist in the smooth running of Trust Psychology.
